Karine Jackson Presents At Hair Expo, Australia For Organic Colour Systems
Former London Hairdresser of the Year Karine Jackson wowed the crowds at Hair Expo in Australia last month with a show for Organic Colour Systems.
Karine’s 8-model presentation aimed to inspire hairstylists of all levels by using organic colour that’s not only great for the clients, but also for the colourist and the environment. She demonstrated new techniques and proved that you can still get the same amazing results as with any other colour. Says Karine, “Expo was fantastically organized, there were so many great hairdressers there. Our show was really enjoyable and it was fab to be back in my hometown showing Australia what Britain’s up to. The hair work in Australia is amazing and it was great talking and sharing ideas with industry leaders and educating about organic colour.”
Karine is an advocate and now UK Creative Director for Organic Colour Systems, because they’re extremely careful about what goes into their colour, using natural alternatives where possible, including aloe vera, comfrey, orange and grapefruit, allowing the hair to retain its natural moisture and protein balance. The colour doesn’t contain ammonia, so is gentler for both the client and stylist. And they use the absolute lowest level of PPD's possible, minimising the likelihood of harmful reactions. Because of its natural base, it closes the cuticle down when shampooing and applying conditioner giving it a natural feel and shine. Where natural ingredients cannot match the effectiveness of chemical alternatives, manufacturer Herb UK utilises precise minimum quantities of only the finest grade chemical additives.
Pharmaceutical grade peroxide, meanwhile, further reduces any chance of skin irritation or burning on the hair. The colour is so gentle that it's recommended by nurses at St Thomas and Guy's hospitals, as well as Trevor Sorbie's My New Hair initiative for patients recovering from cancer and wanting to colour their hair as it re-grows, yet it's as effective as any other colour on the market across the full spectrum of colours, from blondes and hi-lights to darks, reds, and even blues!
