Hair is composed of 83-87% protein, 3% moisture and a few trace elements. To keep hair healthy, these substances must be kept in balance. In order to colour the hair, we need to raise the hair’s natural pH level and open the outer layers or cuticle.

Hair Composition Chart

Once colouring has been completed, we need to bring the hair’s pH level back down and close the cuticle. Hair’s natural pH is between 4.5 and 5.5. If the hair is not returned to this level, then this will cause damage to the cuticle.

Our range of shampoos, treatments and conditioners are designed to return the hair to its natural pH level and leave the hair undamaged by the colouring process. Closing the cuticle back down also helps to reduce colour fade.

By closing the cuticle back down, we return the hair to its natural smooth, flat state. Light reflects better off a smooth surface and so the hair has a natural shine. If you compare a
still lake and a lake which is disturbed by strong winds, it is the still lake that shows the best reflection.

Organic Care Systems is also suitable for use on non-coloured hair.

The Organic Care Systems range is capable of dealing with every hair type and is powerful enough to repair hair in a very short timeframe. As a stylist analysing your clients' hair, you will be aware of the different results which a wet stretch test can give (see the backwash for further information on the wet stretch test). No matter whether your client's hair is low in protein, moisture or both, our products can return the hair back to a healthy state.
